Welcome, to this, the first Smackdown Look-Back, ever! Like the Raw Look-Back, I will be giving you my thoughts on the Smackdown just past. Hope you enjoy!
Note: I know this is Sunday, and that to make any real sense, I should have had this up Saturday. Well, I don't often make too much sense, so expect to see this between Sat and Sun. Sorry for the inconvenience, but blame my day job. But enough of that, on with the Look-Back!
Second Note: In the Raw Look-Back, I wrote about how upset I was that the Miz won the U.S. Title. Whoops! Yeah, I know, kind of a big mistake. I think my hate for the Miz created a Title bout in my head, because for some reason I thought the match for the Belt. Sorry folks, I will endeavour to not let my hate for the Miz cloud my column. We'll just save that post for Wrestlemania, where I bet the Miz takes the belt.
Smackdown
The Good...
Jack Swagger vs. Randy Kennedy Orton. I've always been a fan of Swagger. What can I say, I'm a mark for guys who can go in the ring. When he started struggling last year, it was hard to watch. I mean, he's a big dude with all the in-ring skills to take a match to the limit. He's technically sound, but big enough to through powerbombs and generally through around his opponent. Now, while I'm not a huge fan of Orton's, I will say this; the man can work. This match showed that as the two had a great fight that was given the time that was needed. Swagger here really looks like a true contender...just too bad he went a little crazy with his celebration. Not sure what I mean? Well then, tune into the show tomorrow night, 6:30 pm, @

The Bad...
Sheamus' Humour. There was a backstage segment that involved the Celtic Warrior poking fun at Wade Barret (note: Whenever I say the man's name, I cannot help but say it with his English Accent) and his role in the upcoming movie, Dead Man Down, starring Colin Ferrel (gush!). Now, I have no problem digging a feud between the two, since it only makes a world of sense. An Irish dude fighting and English dude? Its a fight older then time itself. My problem is this; Sheamus is not, and i mean NOT funny. His jokes are lame as all hell. He's become less the Celtic Warrior and more the Celtic Stand-up. Remember when he first hit the scene and was just a pissed off shit-kicker? Those were the days...
The F*#%!
The Miz defeated Cody (and his Mustache) Rhodes with the Figure-Four. I'm sorry, I just can't stand the Miz. And while I've never been a huge Ric Flair fan, I just hate this idea that he's Passed the Torch to the Miz. I mean, that would be like Wayne Gretzky Passing the Torch to Tie Domi. And to see him beat a wrestler with the talent of Cody Rhodes is just aggravating!
Overall...
For the most part I found Smackdown this week enjoyable. It never seems quite as important as Raw, but I always figured that was the point. The in ring action was good. I'm really digging Zeb Coulter, though not because I agree with his points of view, but damn, the man can talk! Providing Swagger doesn't do anything to F up his push, Zeb will take him to the...wait, he already did. Tune into the show to find out what I mean.
That's it for this week folks. Catch ya on the flipside.
